By using Nature Lenz ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What Nature Lenz does

Nature Lenz uses computer vision and AI to identify plants from photos you provide and to suggest general care tips. It is provided as-is, for informational purposes only.

⚠️ Important safety notice: Nature Lenz is not a substitute for expert botanical, medical, or veterinary advice. Do not eat, touch, or feed any plant to a pet based solely on Nature Lenz's identification or "toxicity" information. AI identification can be wrong, especially for visually similar species. When in doubt, consult a botanist, doctor, or veterinarian.

2. Acceptable use

You may not:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or API keys from the app.
Use the app to identify illegal substances, regulated plants, or otherwise circumvent applicable laws.
Abuse our API by automating excessive requests, scraping, or attempting to bypass our rate limits.
Use the app in any way that violates Apple's App Store guidelines or applicable laws.

3. Accuracy disclaimer

While we work to keep identification accurate, AI models make mistakes. Nature Lenz may misidentify plants, especially:

Visually similar species (look-alike toxic vs. edible plants).
Plants outside the geographic range our model was primarily trained on.
Photos with poor lighting, focus, or partial framing.

You assume all risk for any decision made based on Nature Lenz's output.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Nature Lenz is currently free to use. We plan to add optional premium features in the future under a subscription. When that happens, terms for billing, free trials, cancellation, and refunds will be added here and you will be notified before any charge.

5. Intellectual property

The Nature Lenz name, logo, app, and website are owned by us. You retain ownership of any photos you take with your device; by using the app to identify a plant, you grant us a limited, revocable license to process that photo for the sole purpose of producing an identification result.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nature Lenz and its developers are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to: misidentification of plants, harm caused by consuming or touching a plant based on the app's output, or service interruptions.

7. Termination

You may stop using Nature Lenz at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend access to our API services if we detect abuse, but the app itself remains usable subject to API availability.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the developer's place of residence. Disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first; failing that, by the courts of competent jurisdiction.
